GA Licensed Aircraft Engineer

CAA Part-66 B1.2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer

Brooklands Engineering, a UK CAA Part-145, Part-CAO, A8-23 and A8-25 approved maintenance company, based at Sywell Aerodrome, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join the team and assist with the maintenance of a wide range of General Aviation aircraft. The role covers routine maintenance, defect rectification and modifications on single and twin piston engine aircraft such as Piper, Cessna, Cirrus and Extra.

 Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance tasks independently, according to the work defined by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Complete routine, non-routine maintenance and modification tasks as directed, using the latest approved data and company procedures.
  • Perform maintenance to the highest airworthiness standards.
  • Certify aircraft within the scope of their licence and company approvals.
  • Supervision of unlicensed engineers, ensuring work is completed within timescales.
  • Assist with Airworthiness Reviews when required.
  • Ensure any defect identified on the aircraft is reported to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate recording of work carried out on the aircraft.
  • Ensure they always keep their personal work area and facility clean and tidy.
  • Moving aircraft, either manually or with aircraft tug.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years General Aviation experience.
  • Hold a CAA Part-66 B1.2 licence with full group 3 for metal (single/twin) and composite piston engine aircraft. (i.e., Piper/Cessna/Extra/Cirrus).
  • Recent experience on metal (single and twin) and composite piston engine aircraft.
  • Rotax engine experience would be desirable, but not essential.
  • Good practical computer skills for accessing aircraft maintenance publications.
  • Good communication skills and work well as part of a team.
  • A clean UK Driving Licence.
  • Reliable, conscientious, motivated and have a positive attitude.
  • Live within a reasonable commuting distance of Sywell Aerodrome

This is a full time permanent role, standard working hours would be Monday to Friday, 8.00am till 5.00pm, 40 hours a week.

Occasional travel UK and abroad, weekend and out of hours overtime may be required.

Salary would be dependent on General Aviation experience.

Events Manager

HOURS: Full Time - includes evenings and weekends DEADLINE EXPIRED

We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Events Manager to join our busy team. The role covers our full events portfolio including our large Airfield Events, Hangar One, Hangar Two and the Cirrus Suite.   

Overview:

The post holder will be an experienced events manager with excellent skills in planning and delivering events plus managing relationships with staff at all levels, external stakeholders and suppliers. We are looking for a customer focussed individual with the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive, can do attitude. You will need excellent organisation and time management skills with an eye for detail and the ability to use your own initiative.

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Full management and co-ordination of all events from initial enquiry right up to delivery, and you will be expected to be hands on running the events.
  • To conduct show rounds of the events facilities and demonstrate a full knowledge of the events products and services.
  • Ensure all sales enquiries are handled efficiently ensuring the Companies tariffs are applied. Any alterations or promotions to be with the agreement of the Managing Director.
  • Preparation of all relevant event documentation including contracts, invoices, running orders, floor plans and menus.
  • Understand the requirements of the customer and ensure all milestones are clearly communicated and met.
  • Follow all hotel and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure, in conjunction with our Health & Safety Consultant, that all event requirements are health & safety compliant.
  • Managing supplier relationships.
  • Communicate with the heads of department across the Group to ensure standards are maintained and to ensure guests needs and expectations are met.
  • Ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery.

 

Requirements of the role:

  • Strong event management experience – at least 2 years’ experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good at working under pressure in a customer-facing role
  • Budget management experience
  • You will be flexible, adaptable, hardworking and fun!

 

Full time role – includes evenings and weekends.
