Bar & Restaurant Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Bar & Restaurant Manager to manage the teams in the Bar and Restaurant to deliver exceptional service to our customers and guests.

 Overview:

As Bar & Restaurant Manager you will be responsible for the smooth running of the Bar and Restaurant operation whilst you manage, lead and train the teams and work closely with the Head Chef ensuring a seamless high level of service is provided at all times. You must have previous experience in a bar & restaurant managerial role. You will be a strong energetic person who is focused on service levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing weekly stock takes and managing stock levels.
  • Completing team rotas and ensuring adequate staff levels for all shifts in line with business requirements.
  • Coaching, mentoring and leading existing and new team members.
  • Ensuring we deliver high standards of service and hospitality to our customers.
  • Responsible for the day to day running of the Food and Beverage operations within the Hotel.
  • Hands on approach during service periods.
  • Leading busy and peak shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards.
  • Assist in other areas of the business as and when required.
  • Oversee the running of functions within the Aviator.

Requirements of the role:

  • Previous experience in a Bar & Restaurant managerial or supervisory role.
  • A positive attitude, as well as courteous and professional at all times.
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for guest service.
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of people.
  • Great leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate your team.
  • You will be flexible, adaptable, hardworking and fun!

Full time role – hours will include evenings and weekends.

Performance related bonus scheme.

Must have own transport due to rural location.

Kitchen Porter - The Aviator

Kitchen Porter

Overview:

As Kitchen Porter you will be responsible for helping to keep the kitchen running smoothly by making sure everything is clean, tidy, safe and hygienic. You will have high standards when it comes to cleaning and will work well as part of the team and support the Chefs in delivering excellent service to our customers.  

Responsibilities of the Kitchen Porter:

  • Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards.
  • Cleaning the kitchen, sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Deep cleaning fridges and storerooms to maintain sanitary and kitchen safety standards.
  • Receiving deliveries and assisting with storing stock.
  • Washing dirty dishes, cutlery, cutting boards, pots, pans and loading / unloading the dishwasher.
  • Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly.
  • Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling, and washing food items.
  • Providing assistance to chefs and other kitchen staff as required.

  Requirements of the Kitchen Porter:

  • Basic Food Safety Qualification (or equivalent).
  • Good knowledge of kitchen safety and health regulations.
  • Work well under pressure in a busy kitchen.
  • Basic food preparation skills.
  • Work well alone and as part of a busy team.
  • Reliable and have excellent time keeping.
  • Ability to follow all instructions given.

You will be required to work five days out of seven on a rota basis from 9.00am to 4.00pm, however flexible working hours can be discussed.

Own transport essential due to rural location.

Air Ground Radio Operator

HOURS: Full time / Part time DEADLINE EXPIRED

Objectives
Advisory – prevent aircraft collision, advice for safe and efficient flying, alerting system, advising if circuit is active.

Skills you should possess and if not gain training to be able to have the following

  • Air to Ground Radio Licence
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Responsible, reliable and trustworthy
  • Good understanding of Computer systems
  • Flexible working hours

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide an AGCS (provide traffic and weather information to pilots operating on and in the vicinity of the aerodrome. Pass airfield information.)

  • Monitor the tower frequency

  • Carry out opening and closing process

  • Complete flight progress strips when traffic calls up

  • Complete a daily movement log for all movements in and out of Sywell Aerodrome.

  • Complete a daily watch log

  • Monitor an AFPEX system (monitor aircraft flight plans and send departure and arrival messages)

  • In the event of an emergency liaise with 999 and advise of any full emergency etc which will require their assistance

  • Observe weather and expect to provide an unofficial observation when requested by flight crew

  • Deal with PPR and log all information on Red Atlas.

  • Flexibility required for night flying/out of hours

  • Deal with handling requests from aviation companies

  • Monitor emails from third parties and internal

Fire Fighter & Refueller

HOURS: Full time / Part time DEADLINE EXPIRED

Overview:

The Aerodrome Firefighter and Refueller is an important role in the operation of Sywell Aerodrome. As part of a team, you will provide instant response and actions in the event of an emergency with the aim of preserving life. You will also ensure all aviation fuel is fit and safe for use in all flying machines. You will also assist the Aerodrome Manager and AFFM in the safe day to day running of the aerodrome.

 

Key responsibilities (Aerodrome Firefighter and Refueller)

  • Be available to react to an emergency callout.
  • Perform and record fire, fuel and aerodrome lighting checks as required.
  • Dispense and record aviation fuels as per customer requirement.
  • Process payments for fuel and landing fees and provide invoices when required.
  • Ensure that the fuel kiosk, fuel apron, fire bay and surrounding areas maintain a smart and tidy appearance.
  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained in a clean and FOD free condition.
  • Ensure individual PPE is maintained to a clean and serviceable standard.
  • Ensure the FODBOSS is maintained in a serviceable condition and concrete surface sweeping is performed monthly.
  • Perform and record checks of the Fuel Interceptor tanks monthly.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Managing Director, Aerodrome Manager or AFFM.
