Sywell Aerodrome is very pleased to be hosting the first of the Regional Rallies to be held during the 2007 season. In recognition that the main PFA Rally was held at Sywell Aerodrome back in the 1970s, this Rally is to be appropriately known as:

Due to Sywell's central location and free airspace we expect around 300 aircraft to fly-in, plus a large number of PFA members and General Public to arrive by car.

Apart from the excitement of such a large number of different aircraft congregating on the Aerodrome, this a chance for many aviators to meet up with those they may not have seen for awhile. We have also set aside a large area of grass for Exhibitors and Trade Stands so that visitors can browse and hopefully shop. Any Exhibitors or Trade Stands wishing to attend should click here for an application form.

Aircraft can fly-in from 08.30 until 18.30 local each day - click here to book your slot (if any aircraft arrive without a landing slot you run the risk of being held in a holding pattern as aircraft with landing slots will be given priority). Inbound aircraft should call "Sywell Information" on 122.70 overhead Pitsford Reservoir for joining instructions. Runway 03R/21L will be used for arrivals. All aircraft will be given a 15 minute plus or minus leeway on their allocated landing slot time. If for any reason your circumstances should change and you need to change your pre- booked slot, you will also be able to do so online.

On landing you will be marshalled to a parking spot. You are free to camp by your aircraft if you wish. Toilets will be spread around the aircraft parking area.

Only your first Landing fee of £5.00 is payable at the Fuel Kiosk regardless of any subsequent movements an aircraft may make during the weekend. On paying your landing fee you will receive a souvenir sticker plus security wrist bands for the pilot and all passengers to allow you free passage around the Aerodrome. Without them Security will stop you accessing "airside" or the Trade Stand enclosure.

Avgas & Mogas is available 24hrs on our self-serve credit card system. Jet A1 is available during licensed hours.

Engraved Glass Tankards will be presented Saturday evening in Hangar One to the furthest flown, the most original aircraft, the most interesting, the oldest aircraft, the youngest and the oldest pilot.

Those arriving by car are free to access the Aviator Hotel Garden free of charge. However entrance tickets at £5.00 each - per day - will be required to access the Trade Stand enclosure and aircraft parking area. Tickets can be purchased online by clicking here; you can also click here for a ticket form to print out, fill in and return. Alternatively, any remaining tickets can be purchased on the day at the Aviator Hotel.

Food and refreshments will be available at the Aviator Hotel and the Pilots Mess plus a number of food stands in the Exhibitor and Trade Stand Enclosure.

On Saturday evening there is a Barbecue commencing at 19:30 and a Hangar Dance featuring "Centre of Attraction" and a disco in Hangar One will follow on at 21.00 until 01.30. This is open to everyone attending the Rally. There is a late bar until 01.30. Tickets for the Barbecue and Hangar Dance cost £15.00 each; they can be purchased online by clicking here; you can also click here for a ticket form to print out, fill in and return. Any remaining tickets will be available on the Saturday at the Aviator Hotel.

Double Bedrooms are available at £59.00 per night on a first come, first served basis. To book a room contact the Aviator Hotel on 01604 642111. They will require a credit card pre-payment to secure a booking.

For those camping there are two showers and toilets in the Jetstream Hangar. Ample toilets will be located around the Aerodrome.

Everyone at Sywell will be doing their best to make this a great weekend and hopefully the benchmark for all future Regional PFA Rallies. I hope you will attend to enjoy our extensive facilities and to soak up the unique Sywell atmosphere at The Sywell Revival Rally. Let's hope this is the first of many and I look forward to welcoming you here in May.

Yours sincerely,

M.H. Bletsoe-Brown,
Managing Director, Sywell Aerodrome Ltd.
