Welcome to Music in Flight - Sywell
21st July 2007
Weather update - yes, the show is definitely still going ahead! While we've had
some rain here on Friday, Saturday's forecast is much better - dry with isolated showers - and the ground
will have dried out sufficiently during the day.
We are proud to welcome you back to Sywell for another thrilling classical concert
with synchronised flying in 2007. Just with a new name!
Think of a warm summer's evening with a picnic supper on the grass in the rolling
countryside of Northamptonshire. On a specially-built stage in front of you are a
symphony orchestra and choir, performing some of the most moving and popular
classical music imaginable.
But this occasion is something special: in the sky above the stage are aircraft flying
to the music!
As you sit back among the audience of thousands of other music-lovers, you
can listen and watch as each piece is combined with its own airborne display,
from a formation of six aerobatic aircraft to a solitary glider. Each item of music
is selected to complement what you witness in the sky above the stage, and as
the sun goes down the music accompanies a 'night glow' by hot air balloons, a
free fall descent in darkness by the Red Devils Parachute team and ends with a
fantastic firework finale.
In 2007 you can expect a fresh new programme, and some new and innovative
aerial displays. Please keep checking this site for updates on the programme.
This is 'Music in Flight' - a magical new experience. What you see and what you
hear are fused together in an unforgettable combination of elegance, emotion
and sheer breathtaking spectacle.
