Extension Latest and Tour & Dinner Bookings for Summer 2010

5th May 2010

Work on the Museum Extension is now moving apace with the hoops, inner tins and windows now all in situ! We don't hang about you know! It is hoped that this hut will be effectively finished by the end of May. After some thought the new hut is going to become our aircraft display hall to house both the Chipmunk and Vampire. After all, we are an aviation museum and we ought to have some airframes inside! Herewith some pictures of our progress thus far. We have certainly hit the ground running for 2010.

Museum expansion work underway

Whilst updating you we were pleased to see this report by one of our visitors recently posted online - have a look here - many thanks Gary!

With the clocks now set to summer time, the Museum once again is offering its popular 'Tour and Dinner' evenings for groups who may be interested. On arrival at Sywell at around 6pm you charge your glasses and are given both a tour of the airfield and Museum ending at around 8pm, which is followed by dinner at The Aviator Hotel - a perfect night out for U3A, Local History Groups, WI, Rotarians, Car Clubs or any other gathering of adults looking to spend a different evening out. Group visits for anyone from cub packs to car clubs are always available... 5 groups have already visited and we have another 15 in the diary so book soon!

For more information please contact us to pre-book and check availability.

In the meantime, we still need your unwanted military and aviation books, artefacts, unmade model kits, paints, brushes etc (for our younger visitors), mannequins and remember your donations keep us open!

See you over the season!
