No landing fee is the offer at Sywell Aerodrome on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd April where Flylight is hosting this beginning of season event and offering those flying-in :-
"Something different to start the season", said Paul Dewhurst, Director of Flylight, "at a pilot friendly airfield". With a treasure trove of aviation artefacts from the Second World War the museum will be open showing engines, guns and gun turrets, uniforms, radios and even a tractor towing two loaded bomb trolleys. For breakfast, lunch or tea there is a great airfield cafe, The Pilots Mess, with its first floor balcony giving a panoramic view over the airfield. Pilots are welcome to stay overnight either camping by their aircraft or in the stylish, elegant surroundings of the Aviator Hotel. It has an original 1930s clubhouse with an Art Deco interior located by the museum and overlooking the airfield. For a different flying experience, a wallow in nostalgia or an early season outing with no landing fee to pay, Sywell, Northamptonshire is the place to be.
